One of Apple's latest patented designs is a redesigned pizza box that stops crusts from getting soggy. Ends up, Apple actually filed for the patent back in 2010, inspired by Apple employees who hate cold pizza, and has been recently developed at the new Apple Park campus. Covered in DesignBoom, "the apple pizza box bears all the hallmarks of the brand’s signature style, with the boxy cardboard container replaced by a shiny white, circular pizza pod, complete with eight holes to let out steam, preventing the snack from getting soggy. made from paper pulp, the box doesn’t skip on sustainability yet injects a little of the company’s design panache into the unlikely item. Whilst we’re sure that perfectly preserved pizza goes a long way to helping apple employees work at their greatest capacity, the design breakthrough has a greater meaning for apple’s staff. the pizza box has been created under the philosophy that being surrounded by perfect items will inspire apple employees to strive for perfection in the products that they create. The box–which easily improves the functionality of its cardboard counterpart–is just another example of apple’s ethos of elegant, simple, and highly functional products."
